Toddlers ( 8 Months - 2 Year Olds )
Helping Little Ones Learn Motor Skills
Children this age are focused on learning about themselves and their surroundings. We provide a sensory-rich environment for toddlers to explore as they begin to make sense of the world around them. Being able to interact with each other as well as one-on-one with a teacher enables the children to experience a variety of social situations and safe play options. We also offer many opportunities every day for large motor activities both indoors and outdoors. Strengthening large motor skills through climbing, dancing and other undertakings builds balance along with bone and muscle strength. These core strengths are the foundation for increasing fine motor skills, which will later allow children to perform detailed tasks like writing and shoe tying.
The Importance of Routines for 8 Months - 2 Year-Olds
Young children need to know they are safe and secure before they can go out and explore. Little ones in this age group will often become attached to a primary caregiver and check to make sure that person is close by as they go out on an adventure with a new toy or sensory experience. Our teachers focus individualized attention on each child and his or her needs throughout the day, making time for books and songs along with many other activities. Consistency and routines are very important to this age group. Call us today at 262-657-7413 to find out more about our toddler preschool program.
